It is a \u201cvisual\u201d book that introduces us to the predominant sculptural art in the Federal District, through carefully selected photographs showcasing sculptures that exemplify the artistic treasure of sculpture in Mexico City between 1976 and 1982 (under the administration of Mexico City\u2019s head of government, Carlos Hank Gonz\u00e1lez).\n\nFollowing an engaging introduction by the celebrated Andr\u00e9s Henestrosa, the book presents a series of plates with high-resolution images of some of the main modern park sculptures in the Federal District, covering various artistic movements such as the so-called modernist \u201cavant-garde,\u201d sculptural classicism, as well as Indigenous influences in Mexican sculptural art in the Federal District.<\/p>\n
