Description
Mid 20th Century Lalique 'Chêne' Oak Leaf Platter by Marc Lalique
Gorgeous statement piece, Lalique "Chêne" oak leaf platter designed by Marc Lalique, son of Rene Lalique, circa 1943. The oak leaves are formed from mold-blown and acid etched frosted crystal and are intricately interwoven across the piece. Signature on bottom reads LALIQUE FRANCE.
This monumental and exquisitely detailed oval 'Lalique' serving platter/tray, would certainly make an eloquent center piece on any well appointed table this coming holiday season or any time of the year. This platter is a rare find and much sought after by Lalique collectors since the pattern is discontinued, as well as for its unusually large and versatile size. Marc Lalique took inspiration for his design, from the oak leaves on the tree lined boulevards of Paris.
The designer Marc Lalique was the son of René Lalique, the founder of the eponymous French company. This plate is a rare find and highly sought after by Lalique collectors, not only because the pattern has been discontinued but also because of its large and versatile size.
