Exquisite pair of carved ivory figures, portraying two hippos (male and female) with their mouths open, showcasing their impressive tusks. Each figure is signed on the underside of their legs and mounted on individual elaborately carved wooden bases in antique asian style. Provenance from the private collection of Mr. Lorenzo Zambrano Treviño, these figures are a testament to his superb taste and large collection of amazing antiquities.
