Description

Large hand-painted ceramic vase, stamped with a two-headed eagle seal and the name "MAIZER LC," suggesting that this piece could be of Austrian manufacture. With a light pearly base color and golden accents, the vase has oriental decorations that are only interrupted by two main paintings. On one side, the vase shows a landscape with a lake, three trees in the foreground, and a cliff in the background.

On the opposite side, we find a wedding scene, which shows a priest in purple in the center joining the hands of a man and a woman with a white veil. The man has his best man or witness beside him, while the bride is accompanied by her maid of honor dressed in white. To the left of the group of figures, we can see a noble couple, the man dressed in red and the woman in blue, who are conversing and pointing at the newlyweds. On the other side, we see a solitary artisan painting a vase, accompanied by another figure dressed in purple and smoking.

The scene appears to be a celebration of a traditional Chinese ceremony with historical significance, probably involving important characters of their time. It bears the signature "ḦAËC" in the lower left corner and also carries the same signature on the bottom.

Standing proudly on any surface, this large antique ceramic vase makes for an imposing centerpiece or an elegant addition to any room’s decor scheme, perfect for those looking to infuse their space with character-rich pieces steeped in history.

Whether you’re aiming to enhance your home’s ambiance or searching for that standout piece for your collection, this large antique ceramic vase promises not just visual appeal but also storytelling through its detailed craftsmanship—a true testament to artisanal heritage.
