Adolfo Quinteros Gómez was born on June 1, 1927, in Chihuahua. His life and work left a significant mark on the world of Mexican art.
In 1951, thanks to a scholarship from the Government of Chihuahua, Adolfo Quinteros traveled to Mexico City, where he studied at the Academy of San Carlos until 1955. Between 1956 and 1967, he was a member of the Taller de Gráfica Popular, an organization that promoted graphic art and social critique. Quinteros served as secretary general in 1960 and again in 1963. Starting in 1957, he was also a member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana, an important space for visual artists in Mexico. In 1959, he traveled to Czechoslovakia, the USSR, East Germany, and the Netherlands, which broadened his artistic and cultural perspective.
Adolfo Quinteros was a co-founder of the Jardín del Arte, and from 1966 to 1967, he served as its president. His graphic work is characterized by its social and political commitment, reflecting the struggles and challenges of Mexican society. Although we do not have access to his specific work at this time, his legacy as a printmaker and artist remains relevant.
