Gerardo Navarro Gómez is a renowned Mexican plastic artist born on October 3, 1958 in Santo Tomás, Jalietza, Ocotlán de Morelos Oaxaca.
He lives in the rural Catholic world with his mother and his three sisters. Although his family is nationally recognized for its excellence in the production of cotton textiles, Gerardo dedicates himself to painting, often portraying contorted and bloody human figures, as well as religious and children's scenes. Gerardo refused formal education, but a teacher encouraged him to draw, which led him to study art with acclaimed Oaxacan artist Juan Alcázar. Since then, Gerardo has exhibited his work all over the world.
