Born in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León. He is known as the Picasso of Mexico, not only for his style but also for the amount of work he produces. His artistic versatility encompasses drawing, painting, engraving, and sculpture. Cavazos' paintings are characterized by their intensity in color and texture, and his themes are often surrealistic and fantastical.

In 1959, he held his first exhibition at the INBA gallery in Monterrey. Since then, his work has traveled around the world with exhibitions in cities such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, San Luis Potosí, Austin, Madrid, Barcelona, New York, San José (Costa Rica), Chicago, Brasilia, Panama, Lima, Sao Paulo, Zaragoza, Bogotá, New Delhi, and Tokyo.

Throughout his career, Alberto Cavazos has made a significant mark on the Mexican artistic landscape, maintaining the passion and enthusiasm with which he began his journey into art.
